Blood ritual question
I'm working a SS build, and i haven't got blood ritual skill yet. What are some similar ones I can use? Better yet post some of your SS builds.

The only other Necro skill like BR is BiP, which is elite.
Better just get Ritual.
As for my SS builds... I don't take BR. I prefer allies that don't /fail at energy management so I can bring good skills.

Ok, I'm going to make some assumptions.
First, you haven't run a Spiteful bar and got one from wiki or a friend. First thing is to read the skill descriptions very well. After doing that you will notice a few things.
1. Most of your skills are in Curses and (only)Blood Ritual is in Blood.
2. Blood Ritual is an enchantment, not a hex. You use it on your teammates. The only other 2 necro skills off the top of my head that increase energy regeneration are both elites. Namely [skill]Well of Power[/skill] and [skill]Blood is Power[/skill]. They of course cannot be run on a Spiteful Spirit bar as they are also elites(ok IF you happen to cap them while running and SS bar it is possible....for that zone only)
Blood Ritual is purely for your teammates. It is to help them regenerate more energy quickly. With it's recent buff it is actually quite effective now imo.
The old BR cost 10 Energy and the health sacrifice for 10-16 ish seconds(or 10-16 energy)of +3 pips of energy regen. With it's cost reduced to 5 now its a net gain of 5-11 energy(give or take depends on Blood level and +20% enchantment mods if any).
Spiteful bars themselves can be widely varied but a few skills tend to come up in most bars.
[skill]Enfeebling Blood[/skill] is widely under appreciated by a lot of players. Those that play Hard Mode know how effective this skill is. Highly recommended.
[skill]Parasitic Bond[/skill] is a good cover hex. Helpful in PvE but moreso for PvP.
[skill]Reckless Haste[/skill] loved by many as a way to accelerate Spitefuls damage output. I myself rarely run it anymore as I find it too costly for such short duration. Strong in melee hate builds that take advantage of "misses" ie:Price of Failure and Spirit of Failure for example.
[skill]Insidious Parasite[/skill] another very popular one that I don't usually run anymore myself. Note that this skill has NEGATIVE synergy with Reckless Haste as you want your target to hit things.
I tend to run the Ebon Battle Standards on my necro, they are....awesome. I also almost always have Barbs on my bar as a MM is very often in my group and they love Barbs, it's like a single target Order of Undeath, only without the health sacrifice, and it lasts longer, but only one target.
I hope this helped out a little but I would read the necro stickies if I were you at this point. Also just flat out learning all the skills you have is a strong starting point, then learn all necro skills, then all the skills you encounter commonly, finally ..all the skills.
GL and HF
**edit**
Sorry my post was so long after I opened the thread. When I had opened it there was no mention of UW. Just what is a replacement for BR and pls post SS blds! statement. There was only one other post(Livia) when I got back to reading this and typing up a response. When I browse guru I usually just scroll thru all the new post pages opening each one of interest in a tab. Then I go back and read thru them. Sorry if this screws up the thread but he seemed to be implying LITTLE TO NO KNOWLEDGE whatsoever so I went from that point.

for UW duo 55/ss nothing else imo, you need SS to do the damage and it would be tough if not impossible to find a replacement if you run [skill]Blood Is Power[/skill] if your monk is decent he/she will probably take blessed signet or such to allow their own regen.br is really only to boost energy pre battle or help out if the 55 is stripped of enchants should a nightmare pop up,it can be dropped, but i doubt the monk will appreciate having to wait for a much longer time for energy regen (i play both 55 and ss in UW and would never run/duo without BR personally)
@nebuchaneezer, OP has already stated hes inquiring about possibilities for an UW ss/55 duo build, i dont have a clue where the tangent you went off on came from :P
@OP, get yourself to kamadan, kaineing or LA and find a "normal necro tome" and learn Br that way

Ya, thats true. And I know this at least works in NF, and that if you unlock the skill with balth faction, it then becomes available for purchase at skill traders that it was previoulsy unavailable at.

Simply put, there isn't one. Very rarely in Guild Wars is there ever a "replacement" for any skill; there may sometimes be alternates, but they are often not as efficient/effective. In the case of BR, though, the only replacement skill would be to not bring BR, that that wouldn't make your monk very happy.

Tomes work for all non-elite skills of all professions, from any campaign, including Core skills.
Elite tomes are, of course, the equivalent for all elite-only skills.

Since Blood Ritual and Spiteful Spirit are both Prophecies skills, I am going to assume that you leave from the Temple of Ages. In that case, you have no excuse not to just run out and do this quest to get Blood Ritual:
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/The_Last_Hog
If your Necro is from Cantha or Elona, then you can't do that, so just run over to Quarrel Falls, or get 1,000 Balthazar Faction to unlock the skill, and get a Necro tome.
There is no substitute for Blood Ritual in a 55/SS UW duo build, although whether BR is needed can be debated.

BR isn't really necessary, it just gets rid of the downtime at the beginning. Any skill will work nicely enough there.

You can unlock any skill with Bathazar faction at the Priest of Bathazar NPC; he is all over the Battle Isles as well as a Guild Hall if you've paid the fee. Unlocked skills can be used by any PvP character on your account. To use it on your PvE Necro, you will also need a Necromancer Tome after unlocking , and you must use it on the PvE character that you wish to acquire the skill.
